Background

The Level 2 Marketing Assistant Apprenticeship Standard has been accepted. The document listed under the heading "Support resources" provides information on the apprenticeship standard and assessment plan.

The Level 3 and Level 4 apprenticeships and this one share many similarities, but there are also some significant changes.

The Level 2 apprenticeship contains a required qualification, in contrast to the Level 3 and Level 4 apprenticeships. One of the certifications recognised for usage in the apprenticeship is the Alphaskill Level 2 Certificate in Marketing.

The qualification unit and synoptic assessment must be positioned underneath the End Point Assessment (EPA) (if using the alphaskill Foundation Certificate in Marketing qualification as the mandated qualification).

The resources listed below have been created to help with the execution and completion of the apprenticeship.

Funding

The apprenticeship for a marketing assistant falls under funding band 8.

The employer will handle and manage the funding for this apprenticeship, and it will be shared among the training organisations of their choice.

With this level of financing, a variety of opportunities are available to enable additional training and supplement the apprentice's on-programme learning.

Delivery options

This diagram shows how the Level 2 Certificate in Marketing fits into the specifications for this Level 2 apprenticeship's on-programme learning component.

The Marketing apprenticeship is supposed to last 12 to 14 months, however you can extend it if you think it's necessary. This provides you the freedom to include additional Alphaskill short courses to make sure the apprentice has a strong foundation in the essential skills.

End Point Assessment

The EPA will be split into two parts for this apprenticeship.

  • An interview that was planned and backed up with a summary of the evidence from the portfolio. The on-programme learning portion of the apprentice's portfolio will be the main topic of discussion during the 60-minute interview. The Alphaskill Smart End Point Assessment (SEPA) technology will be used to conduct this interview remotely.
  • An overview of the in-tray test. The computer-based test will last 105 minutes, including 15 minutes at the start for the apprentice to evaluate the information presented. The test will include both open-ended questions and data assessments that will cover the knowledge and abilities that have been determined to be relevant to the assessment method within the grading criteria.
