employee

1.Tackle skills gap

Apprenticeships can be customised to fit particular job responsibilities, making them adaptable to your company's needs.

2.Reward your current employees

Apprenticeships aren't simply for new employees. They provide an excellent opportunity to improve the abilities, knowledge, and confidence of your current employees. You'll qualify for government financing whether you choose to do this or bring on new apprentices.

3.Create a motivated workforce

Apprentices frequently outperform graduates in terms of loyalty, passion, and motivation.

4.Build a more diverse market team

Apprentices can bring new skills, experiences, and ideas to your company, whether you choose high school graduates or seasoned personnel. Your apprentices need to be older than 16 and not enrolled full-time in education, as well as having been in the UK or an EEA country for more than three years. There is no higher age limit.

Apprenticeship
Funding for employer

Depending on the apprentice's age and experience, funding may be provided for both new and existing employees.

Employers in England have access to full funding for individuals who are over 16, so you simply need to pay their salary. Employers in Scotland, Wales, and England have access to full financing for all apprentices aged 16 to 18; you may also be eligible for support for apprentices aged 19 and older. Contact your local agency for further information as funding incentives differ between countries.

Rates of apprentice pay

If your apprentice is under the age of 19 or is in their first year of apprenticeship, you must pay the national minimum salary for an apprentice.

If your apprentice is 19 or older, or has finished the first year of their apprenticeship, you must pay them the national minimum wage.

To recruit and retain excellent talent, you may want to consider paying a more competitive salary to your apprentices. As the apprentice advances and assumes more responsibility, their pay may grow in some roles. They'll also receive the same benefits as employees, such as a holiday allowance.
